Prompt:  A Phoenix rising from the ashes.
Notes:  What do you call fic that isn't fanfic?  "Orginal fic" just sounds wrong to me because that implies that fanfic is somehow not original, and while it's certainly derivative, I won't say that it's not original.

They made love like they were drowning, limbs twisting as they battled for oxygen in the space where her body ended and his began.  Except, was it making love when she now knew he intentionally left his ring to cool on their nightstand while he allowed his breath to mingle with another woman's?

“I want you,” whispered the press of his fingers on her hips.  “I still want you,” he said, lips carving their initials against her pulse.

As his hand moved lower, she wondered if the fire would leave behind anything more than scattered bits of ash and bone.
