Songs That Remind Me of Seeley Booth
Jan. 12th, 2008 10:13 amsillysun22 asked me to post songs that I listen to while writing and/or that remind me of Booth and Brennan. I'm going to start to fill her request by posting songs that remind me specifically of Booth. For some songs, I've added brief explanations. I may add more, and I'll almost certainly edit this post down the line and add additional songs as they occur to me. I've posted Mediafire and Youtube links. Any problems, let me know. :)
Yesterday, I posted that I'd just discovered Jose Gonzalez' music and was wondering if anyone could rec other musicians I might like. Well, witchofthedogs recommended Kate Rusby. I looked her up on Youtube, and the first song of hers that I listened to is Who Will Sing Me Lullabies?. It's a girl-and-her-guitar kind of song. It's achingly beautiful, but not overwrought. This song made me sob. And that's not an exaggeration.
When it comes to describing music, words fail me. Just, go listen. If this song doesn't gut you, you're a stronger person than I. I was telling Witchy that this song makes me want to write something that's as plaintive and achingly beautiful, but I don't think I can do it.
