Yesterday, I posted that I'd just discovered Jose Gonzalez' music and was wondering if anyone could rec other musicians I might like. Well,
witchofthedogs recommended Kate Rusby. I looked her up on Youtube, and the first song of hers that I listened to is
Who Will Sing Me Lullabies?. It's a girl-and-her-guitar kind of song. It's achingly beautiful, but not overwrought. This song made me sob. And that's not an exaggeration.
When it comes to describing music, words fail me. Just, go listen. If this song doesn't gut you, you're a stronger person than I. I was telling Witchy that this song makes me want to write something that's as plaintive and achingly beautiful, but I don't think I can do it.
What are you still doing here? Go listen (and read the lyrics)!
