They're seated at the bar, sipping the drinks Sid set in front of them.  Booth dips his fingers into a red dish and fishes out another peanut.  When Brennan's mouth opens, he knows she's about to lecture him about germs.  He cuts her a warning glance; her mouth shuts.  "You're actually going to listen to me?"

She shrugs and raises an eyebrow.  "I just thought I would be gracious and let you win this battle--since it's obvious I win every war."

"Whatever.  You're delusional."  Closing his eyes, Booth sighs and rolls his head, trying to loosen the knot in his shoulder.

"Turn around."

Booth's eyes open at the command.  "What?"

"You're clearly in pain.  Turn around."

Her gaze is steady, so he obeys, shifting to give her his back.

Anticipation sharpens his senses:  he feels her gaze before she even touches him.   He thinks he's ready for it, but he nearly jumps when her hands descend.

"There?"

"Higher."

He bites back a moan as her thumb presses into just the right spot.

This is one thing he misses about having a girlfriend.

For several long, silent minutes, Brennan kneads his shoulders.

"Better?" she eventually asks.

"Yeah."  Booth turns, swallowing.   "Thanks."

A/N:  Who else misses Sid and Wong Foo's?  They were there one day, and then they just disappeared.

*squee* Aww. That should so happen haha.

And, yes, I do miss both places. At least we have the diner!

Great work!

Thank you, Asra. :) I like the diner, but Wong Foo's had a certain intimacy that I fear the diner lacks. Plus Sid was a cool cat.

Considering it was Booth's place, you could take it one of two ways that Sid and Wong Foo's went.
1. Booth lost that war.
2. He wants a place where they are equal such as the diner. Either that or it's nearer.

Another winning little insight here. Anslie doesn't know what she's missing. (sorry to bring her up)

That's a fantastic insight, Sara. I've just assumed that TPTB just decided to drop Sid and Wong Foo's at some point, and that was it.

No worries; I suspect she's off reading Bleak House or Crime and Punishment right now. :)

Thanks, Sara. You are the bee's knees.

Gah! Bleak House is one of my favourite books. What would she make of such episodic plotting? No doubt Dickens was being lazy instead of publishing it all in one fell swoop. *g*

I could totally see this happening on the show.

And yeah, I always wondered what happened to Sid/Wong Foo's!

I like the diner, but I miss them ordering out Thai food all the time. Maybe they noticed it was getting weird that they ate each other's places all the time?

The diner does have that really nice window that the cameras can pull back out of to end each episode (ie: Judas on a Pole).

It's very generous of Brennan to offer Booth a backrub because she can see he's in pain. I'm sure she has no other motive :)

I haven't actually watched season 2 or 3 yet - mainly due to not having the DVDs, or the time if I did have the DVDs (though I am completely spoiled for them having read so much fic), so Wong Foo's still exists for me :)

"Anticipation sharpens his senses: he feels her gaze before she even touches him. He thinks he's ready for it, but he nearly jumps when her hands descend."

Wow... love that. And I really miss Sid. I mean, who can watch him in those early eps and not hear the strains of "Now That We've Found Love". Seriously, Booth needs a guy friend and Sid was perfect.

I do miss Sid!

And his back may have loosened but now other things are uncomfortable!

Sid/Heavy D was awesome.

And his back may have loosened but now other things are uncomfortable!

You, my dear, have a dirty mind. *g* But I think you're probably right. ;)

Well, ok, very possibly.

Brilliant writing!

And yes, I miss Wong Foo's. Any old show can have a diner - I mean, come on!

Wong Foo's was awesome.

I loved super-psychic Sid. : D

I, too, miss Sid and Wong Foo's. It was much more intimate than the diner and I loved Sid's psychic abilities. Maybe they'll come back; we can hope.

Hey yeah... where did Wong Foo's go? The diner's cool and all, but you gotta have more than one hangout.

In the commentaries it was mentioned that there were complications to shooting at Sid's - I think because it is an actual restaurant and the diner is just a set.

She shrugs and raises an eyebrow. "I just thought I would be gracious and let you win this battle--since it's obvious I win every war."
hee! Such a Brennanism.

Oh, yesssss. very nice. [sigh.] I wish we'd see this in an episode.

And yes: I do miss Wong Foo, and I do miss Sid. Still: the diner looks out onto the street, and seems brighter than Sid's. I just think that we should see a waitress on occasion. I mean...they seem to eat there every day - don't they know the wait staff (and vice versa) by now? (I watch this show WAY too much and think about them WAY too much. Fandom is eating my brain...)

*grin* I miss Sid and Wong Foo's as well, I know that just going by numbers, there have probably been more big scenes at the diner, but Wong Foo's is just special. It's the place where they started coming to an understanding of each other. Or something.. *ponders*
They haven't quite gotten there yet, after all, but they're working on it ;)
Also, I grew up listening to "Linger", hehe.

I say the same than [livejournal.com profile] a2zmomhis back may have loosened but now other things are uncomfortable! Bwahahahahaha. Poor Booth *wink*

And I liked Wong Foo's but I prefer the diner. I didn't know I was the only.

Besos

Hee. I'm thinking while relieving one spot, she tensed up another?

I do miss Wong Foo's. The colors were glorious for icons. But the diner has pie. And in life, there is only pie! :P

Awww, they know each other so well. Cute.

I miss them too - I'm assuming the switch had to do with production costs. Pity, since Wong Foo's is so much more visually appealing than the diner.

the sudden lack of Wong Foo's after season one is a source of constant puzzlement for me. I far preferred it to the diner.

btw, great fic! lol.
