Wednesday Smiles

My smile:  watching my daughter wake up.  She stretches just like an adult.  :)


I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the Bones commentary. Same goes for other people, of course. So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.

If you'd like to do so, please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small. Could be the snuggle your dog gave you on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today. I've been posting these since last December. If you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere. Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.

Why am I doing this? Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience. Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.

Why Wednesday? I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt. :)

I've celebrated my birthday and our wedding anniversary and we still have hublet's birthday to go tomorrow, so there are lots of smiles this week for me.

I adore watching babies do almost anything; it's all so new to them. I used to absolutely adore watching my daughter-as-baby breathe. :-)

What makes me smile today?
1. Last week - the week from hell because of a crazy student - is over, and I am starting to sleep again. (though: note the posting time.)
2. My husband tells me he loves me every day.
3. The daughter seems to be doing better.
4. Remembering the daughter-as-baby brings on the smile.
5. Remembering taking care of the daughter's dog last week; I love that dog!!

Heee... babies are surprising in a lot of ways.

- I just got home, I was out for two days with a friend. We didn't really do anything special, just hanging out, it was good.

- Just like I published a couple days ago in my LJ, it seems that I'm being promoted at work. Will give more details once I start my new job. :)
