Wednesday Smiles

My smiles: 

+  I have Fire in the Ice waiting for me on the DVR as a reward for the insane amounts of cleaning and nesting I have been doing lately.  (DH thinks I have officially lost my mind because I've had an unwatched Bones ep sitting for almost 2 weeks.  *g*)
+  Who needs heaven when I have flannel sheets in the winter?
+  My stomach gets in the way, and I can't see my feet very well, but I am 37 weeks + 3 days pregnant today, and I still feel good and have plenty of energy.  This is more than I ever expected; I am intensely grateful.
+  The Steelers won the Super Bowl.  As a Steelers fan by proxy, this is good news.  :)  I could care less on my own, but loyalty to DH and bro-in-law mean I am at least happy that they're happy.

I skipped last week, so if you want to put stuff from then, too, please feel free. :)  Be well, everyone, especially if you're finding it difficult to find things to smile about right now. 

I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the Bones commentary. Same goes for other people, of course. So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.

Could be the snuggle your dog gave you on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today. I've been posting these since last December. Why am I doing this? Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience. Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.

Why Wednesday? I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt. :)

So glad you're feeling well and still able to function - that's how I was with Annie who was born at a NORMAL weight, but not with my Cole monster! lol Have they given you an estimated baby weight yet? (even though they are TOTALLY NOT RELIABLE!)

Oh, don't remind me! It's getting more unruly now than curly. I was looking at it yday at the doc's office and there are one or two little curls... I kept twisting them around my finger trying to get them to last longer! lol
I had told J that once he lost his curls we would cut his hair... but I really don't want to!

LOL, I was thinking it looked less curly. I loved the curls but now have visions of you putting curlers in his hair in an effort to keep it curly and convince J not to cut it off. *g*

*vacation soon (leaving Thurs) for a slightly warmer climate and a less stressful time with my bf.
*Although I have a cold it only manifests itself early in the morning then goes away by mid-morning. It makes getting out of bed difficult but at least the day doesn't suck.
*Oh! and your baby- is due on my mom's birthday. How awesome.
*and finally, the awesome pottery I've been painting lately. Am so excited to get them back all glazed and fired.

Nesting and cleaning is awesome. My mom thought I was pregnant once because I spent a week straight cleaning and 'nesting'.

*I unlocked a new level of MarioKart last night (sad, but I've been trying to do so for weeks and I'm happy I actually managed it).

*Dierks Bentley's new album was released yesterday and I'm in love with it.

- I'm seeing with two guys from work Los Coronas in concert next Saturday. I couldn't be more excited about it. :) I hope snow doesn't get in their way here. :(

Today I have decided I might survive having the flu after all. Last Wednesday I would have just choosen death, so that's a good thing. Why oh why is it EVERY YEAR I am a good little teacher and get the flu shot, and still I manage to come down with the flu anyway?

Also, with four babies I have never been more than 37 weeks along! You go girl. Not much longer at all. Sending good happy birth thoughts your way!

My Mock Trial team won today! We did amazing.

- I had a wonderful long weekend with my mom. (weekend before last) We went to a wildlife park and got to see manatees!!!

- I'm still employed. Which is good since some of the people that I used to work with are not. (That's as of the past two days.)

- The Steelers won. :D (That's for my mom, who had to work at 5am the next morning and went to bed after the third quarter ended. *facepalm for her* lol)

- The roomie got a Wii, so I spent all last weekend playing video games. :)

Adding: I have to smile that Justin Timberlake's golf tournie benefits the Shriners Hospital. That is so so awesome! Shriners Hospitals = Amazingly Good People
