Ya know, I took German in high school so there was a lot of learning about WWII and the events that led up to it. (Might explain my continued fascination with the subject). Anyhow, Kristallnacht was one of the events that I couldn't fathom then and still can't wrap my head around now. Thanks for noting such a day.
My son majors in German at uni and visits when he can. Both of my boys are back there in January. Ww hope to go back next year. We could not believe the memorials we saw. The underground empty library in the Bebelplatz in Munich was haunting. The German people don't forget, the rest of the world? Reminders like yours are timely.
