Wednesday Smiles

My smiles:
1. The beautiful people who helped me feel less morose yesterday. *hugs them all* Thank you.
2. I made breakfast for dinner last night -- blueberry pancakes. They were damn good. :)
3. I feel like baking, so tonight I'm going to make whole wheat pumpkin bread or blueberry muffins.
4. Every day is a new day. Kinda neat, no?
I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the Bones commentary. Same goes for other people, of course. So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.
If you'd like to do so, please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small. Could be the snuggle your dog gave you on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today. I've been posting these since December. If you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere. Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.
Why am I doing this? Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience. Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.
Why Wednesday? I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt. :)
Please feel free to comment even if we're not "friends."
P.S.
I don't always get a chance to respond to all your smiles, but I read every single one. They all leave me feeling a little bit lighter than I did before. So thank you! I hope you're all having a good week, my friends, and if you're not, I hope it improves.

Date: 2008-09-17 12:39 pm (UTC)These are being hard days, I have a terrible pain in my neck and right arm that lasts for almost a week, and despite of that I have been going to work normally, and now I just realized that I lost my fav sunglasses, a great day... I feel like cooking too when I'm a little down.
-The tasty and yummy lentils I made yesterday for today. Hey, and the grapes I'm having for dessert. ;)
-Bones today/tomorrow.
-I went to the dentist some days ago. She was happier than me about the braces, she's optimistic and that's great. I just want to get rid of them soon.
I hope you're feeling better today. *hugs*

Date: 2008-09-17 01:28 pm (UTC)BTW, how long have you been vegan?
So sorry to hear about your arm/neck pain. :( Is this related to the Raynaud's? Hope the pain eases soon... Have you tried using a heating pad?
I love lentils and grapes. Not together, of course. :P
Good luck w/the braces.
Thanks, sweetie, I am feeling better today. *hugs you back*

Date: 2008-09-17 05:31 pm (UTC)Just a question, do you put the fruit in the mixture before you cook it, or on he pancake once done? Both of the ideas are attractive to me now. :)
BTW, how long have you been vegan?
I'm learning already. I hadn't eaten meat for years, and gave up milk too a couple years ago. The idea of becoming a complete vegetarian had been always in my mind, when I decided to jump into it, reading about it and seeing that is really not big difference for myself between vegetarian and vegan, but it's really a BIG difference... I didn't think it twice. Let's say I've not eaten anything animal (not even cheese, eggs, yoghourt, honey...) in a month now. There are some nice people helping me with this.

No, Mr. Raynaud won't be visiting until it's really cold ;), it's all about a muscular contraction (contracture?) because of my job, bad posture habits... you know. Sometimes it's really painful. I'm so idiot than I haven't gone to the doctor. Thanks for the tips, I'm just on the ibuprofen for now. :(
Good luck w/the braces.
THANKS!!
Thanks, sweetie, I am feeling better today.
So glad to hear that.
