I wasn't crazy about this scene in canon, but I really like your take on it.

Last night she asked him if she should go. He told her to live wide. This morning his answer--the one that matters--is in the way his arm wraps 'round her shoulders and pulls her into his side.

This is so good. I got all goosebumpy. :)
