"If God appeared to you..."

"If God appeared to you in a series of vivid and moving dreams and told you to leave everything behind, travel to the Red Sea and become a fisherman, what would you do?  What if you were told to sacrifice your child?" - Taken from The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock, Ph.D.

My answers:

1)  Say "Hell no," and check to see if I'd been smoking crack in my sleep.
2)  Tell God to go to hell.

No offense intended to those who would answer differently.

So what would you do?

Been turning this one over in my head. While I respect people's faith, blind faith is dangerous. People not thinking for themselves or following orders or rules without thinking is dangerous.

Watched a documentary once where a religious scholar said the words of God must never be questioned - chilling, that's how fanatics are created and come on, what's the quality of his academic work if he doesn't question things?!

Some might say if you have faith and ability to trust you'd do it, but still, I'd never.

You're too sweet :)

My father influenced me to adopt a scholarly approach to religion.
