"If God appeared to you..."
"If God appeared to you in a series of vivid and moving dreams and told you to leave everything behind, travel to the Red Sea and become a fisherman, what would you do? What if you were told to sacrifice your child?" - Taken from The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock, Ph.D.
My answers:
1) Say "Hell no," and check to see if I'd been smoking crack in my sleep.
2) Tell God to go to hell.
No offense intended to those who would answer differently.
So what would you do?

Watched a documentary once where a religious scholar said the words of God must never be questioned - chilling, that's how fanatics are created and come on, what's the quality of his academic work if he doesn't question things?!
Some might say if you have faith and ability to trust you'd do it, but still, I'd never.

Or your 'Go to hell' choice is very appealing to me. :)
Anyway, I wouldn't listen. Unless I'm asked to give him/her my dessert, like Lisa Simpson. *g*
ETA: There's a movie that I love called Commandments about a man whose life starts getting better when he loses his faith and start breaking the commandments one by one. Once he says: "To hell with God", your number 2 made me remember that. Minute 5:45 more or less.

and to the second one, I would debate how breaking one of god's big commandments and killing the most innocent and beloved of his/her creations could possibly fit into god's will.

I'd also have a really hard time believing it really was God.
